EQUIP

Advancing Biomanufacturing Innovation and Commercial Success

The Biomanufacturing Hub Network (BioHubNet) is committed to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the life sciences and the biomanufacturing sector. Through its EQUIP programs, BioHubNet’s commercialization support strategy aims to empower and support trainee-entrepreneurs by providing access to critical funding and resources that advance their projects toward market readiness.

EQUIP funding will support commercialization-enabling activities at different stages of development. This includes specialized consulting and services that are essential for translating innovations and achieving key development milestones. These services must be sourced from experts whose skills align with the technical and commercial needs of each project.

This mandate ensures that BioHubNet-supported projects receive the tailored expertise necessary to advance innovative solutions and achieve successful commercialization outcomes, thereby strengthening Canada’s biomanufacturing ecosystem and supporting early-stage companies in reaching key inflection points.

What We Support

  • Product Development: Prototype refinement, clinical trial design, and manufacturing scale-up strategies.
  • Regulatory Guidance: Navigation of compliance requirements and legal frameworks.
  • Operational Planning: Supply chain development, quality assurance, and sustainability strategy.

Eligibility

  • Open to graduate students, recent graduates, and postdoctoral fellows in life sciences or engineering.
  • Applicants must be affiliated with a Canadian academic institution or early-stage startup.
  • Projects must demonstrate clear potential to benefit Canadian industries and align with the biomanufacturing ecosystem.
