In this interactive session, participants will gain a thorough understanding of Medical Affairs in biopharma, its function in connecting science, business, and healthcare and current trends. The workshop will discuss the role of a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) as a strategic entry point into the field, describe day-to-day activities, and required competencies for job readiness. Participants will engage scenario walkthroughs, mock MSL interactions, and practical exercises in small groups.

Jefferson Tea is the Founder & CEO at Agilis Health, a Consulting Firm focused on drug development strategic consulting and knowledge transfer in the biopharmaceutical, healthcare and life science sector.
He has over 25 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry in Research & Development, Medical Affairs, Marketing & Sales, Patient Services and Market Access.
Until the end of 2024, Dr. Tea was previously Vice-President Medical & Regulatory Affairs at Takeda Canada for 12 years, and has held other leadership roles at Amgen, AstraZeneca and Pfizer at the Canadian and Global levels.
Dr. Tea holds a PhD in pharmacology and an MBA from the University of Montreal. In addition, he has completed C-Suite Level Advanced Leadership training programs from Rotman Business School (University of Toronto), AdMare BioInnovations Executive Institute (Vancouver, BC) and Columbia University Executive Institute (New-York, NY).
