Biomanufacturing Hub Network (BioHubNet) Launches EQUIP Funding Program Featuring VentureConnect and VentureLift Grants
The Biomanufacturing Hub Network, BioHubNet -dedicated to advancing innovations in biomanufacturing for human health- is excited to announce the launch of its EQUIP funding program. Developed to provide robust commercialization support for trainee-entrepreneurs, EQUIP offers a tiered funding approach that empowers emerging innovators at every stage of development, from concept validation to scale-up and market entry.
Supporting Trainee Entrepreneurs
By delivering targeted financial support and access to expert resources, the EQUIP program bridges the gap between academic innovation and market-ready solutions. EQUIP comprises two distinctive grants tailored to meet the diverse needs of innovators.
The VentureConnect Grant offers up to $5,000 per project and is designed for early-stage innovators aiming to build industry networks and expand their professional connections. This grant supports activities such as attending industry conferences, engaging with venture capitalists, and participating in workshops and pitch competitions.
The VentureLift Grant provides up to $25,000 per project to help innovators overcome critical development milestones. Focused on accelerating progress toward market readiness, this grant funds key commercialization-enabling activities including business and strategy development, product innovation, regulatory compliance, and operational planning.
Both grants target STEM professionals -graduate students (Master’s or PhD), postdoctoral fellows, recent graduates, and, in some cases, research associates- ensuring that Canadian-based innovations with a clear commercialization roadmap receive the vital support they need.
Advancing Commercialization Excellence
By offering the VentureConnect and VentureLift grants, BioHubNet equips trainee-entrepreneurs with the resources and expertise needed to transform groundbreaking ideas into commercially viable solutions that improve human health outcomes. In supporting innovators to accelerate their growth, BioHubNet further advances its mission to strengthen Canada’s biomanufacturing ecosystem.
