Claudia Ferryman, a distinguished figure in leadership, business consulting, and education, has a multifaceted career spanning more than two decades. She has consulted for Fortune 1000 companies and international organizations, including Microsoft, Apple, Royal Bank, CIBC, and Rogers. An award-winning educator at the University of Toronto, Claudia has designed and delivered over 400 workshops and created courses in persuasion, negotiation, communication, and influence, empowering over 30,000 professionals worldwide. She has taught at the University of Toronto for over 16 years and presently teaches Effective Communication, Persuasion and Negotiations in Business. Her literary contributions include “Emotional Resilience,” Powerful Speaking and Presenting and the guidebook “The Communication Chameleon.”

The ability to communicate ideas clearly, adapt communication to different audiences, build professional relationships, navigate conversations with confidence, and demonstrate interpersonal effectiveness are important when entering industry environments. The workshop will introduce the DISC Communication Framework, providing learners with a practical understanding of their own communication preferences and how different communication styles influence workplace interactions. Participants will explore how to recognize and adapt to different communication styles, communicate with greater clarity and impact, and navigate situations where others approach communication differently. The goal is to help participants translate their technical expertise into professional communication capability, an essential skill for networking, interviewing, collaboration, leadership, and career advancement.
